Mother Teresa Trust; about the trust and its uses

 The Order of the Missionaries of Charity is a Mother Teresa organization, which had been established by Saint Teresa in the 1950s. Although she was canonized in 2016, people continue to refer to her as Mother instead of Saint Teresa, due to the sentiment and love attached to the former name.

The MOC is run by donations which the sisters receive from various individuals and organizations. These funds are used efficiently to help the sick, poor, orphaned, and abandoned. Aside from these, donations also contribute to the smooth functioning of the overall organization and help in undertaking new projects, managing the staff, and providing basic medical facilities for those living in homes and hospices.

While the Missionaries of Charity do accept donations from countless people and organizations from both the people in the country and abroad, the MOC is the only official organization established by Mother Teresa and can rightfully be referred to as Mother Teresa Trust while donating.

However, numerous organizations and fundraisers have utilized the cause and the name of Mother Teresa to collect funds and mislead people.

The Mother Teresa Charitable Trust or the MTCT is a branch that has been established by the Missionaries of Charity to help with the dissemination of knowledge and facts about Mother Teresa and the workings of the organization. It also updates people about the global branches of Missionaries of Charity and the contributions of their members.

Mother Teresa’s Organization

  Mother Teresa of Calcutta also known as St. Teresa, founded the Missionaries of Charity in the 1950s. This organization aimed to serve the poor and the marginalized communities. The sisters of the Missionaries of Charity have a very rich and inspiring history, it is filled with their milestones of selfless service, compassion, and dedication to the poor and the lonely.
