The Order of the Missionaries of Charity is a religious congregation that was formed by Saint Teresa in Calcutta. The main headquarters is located in the Taltala area of Kolkata, India, and is operated by the sisters of Mother Teresa . This grand and successful organization began as a small initiative by a group of 12 sisters and has currently expanded to 139 branches worldwide. It was Mother Teresa’s charity and vocation that encouraged her to pursue her vision, and her charisma and dedication drew hundreds of women who were inspired by her actions.
